Maryland Woman Apprehended For Hitting Virginia Officer In The Face: Police

A Rockville woman is being held without bail after assaulting a Virginia police officer and committing several other crimes, authorities said.

Nejat Ahmed Hussen, 34, reportedly struck an Arlington County Police officer in the face while resisting arrest in the 200 block of South Glebe Road around on May 30, the department said. 

Officers originally responded to the area for a larceny in progress around 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, a woman said another woman stole flowers from her business and destroyed a planter, police said. 

Officers later found Hussen and placed her into custody after the incident. She has since been charged with Destruction of Property and Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, police said.
